Problem solving Friday

Problem solving Friday is an opportunity to think mathematically.  Introducing key problem solving skills to Year 5 has helped them develop as systematic mathematicians.  They were faced with a problem that would encourage them to work systematically and find all solutions. This helps develop their conjecture skills and form a convincing argument. Pupils had thoughtful discussions about what they noticed and how they could manipulate the numbers in the problem.
