On Friday 8 March, every child in Years 5 & 6 wowed their audience with their advanced and mature portrayal of ‘Around the World in 80 days.’ Described by Mr Evans as ‘a masterpiece of technical theatre’, the production used ever-changing physical theatre shapes to take the audience of Phileas Fogg’s journey. The cast created trains, ships, elephants, sledges with nothing more than umbrellas and a sheet. The production utilsed what Mrs Jenkins refers to as the ‘dressing up box technique’ to allow all children to take their turn in the spotlight feeling safe and empowered. The children worked hard to communicate characterisation, narrative and comic moments, They should all feel incredibly proud of what they achieved.
Proud parents were astounded!
