On Saturday 28 September we welcomed a very special group of OWLS back to the school for our Vintage OWLS lunch.
OWLS who had left between 1959 and 1972, some of whom had not been back since they left, returned along with guests, for a delicious three course lunch in Highden.
They all had stories of their time at Windlesham House with five of the OWLS having attended at the same time. In the age of social media and everything being communicated electronically, it was a pleasure to connect people in person and bring back happy memories for so many of them.
The sun shone for the tours of the school, with everyone working out what used to be where, which bits had stayed the same and which had seen dramatic changes such as the swimming pool โ now the music room. All agreed that Windlesham House was still looking splendid.
One OWL, David Goff (1962), was shown Windlesham House magazines from 1930 which contained notes and mentions of his father. It was quite something for him to hear things about his fatherโs childhood that he had never known, and he couldnโt wait to tell his children.
Former staff members Richard and Rachel Martin as well as David Turner also attended and reminisced about their days here, including several anecdotes about staff past and present.
