It has been wonderful to see the woods once again full of happy children playing, exploring and having fun.
Speckled wood butterflies have been everywhere in the woods this week, making a magical sight as they dance in pairs in the sunshine. The children have enjoyed foraging for autumn berries such as elderberries and blackberries and using them to mush up and paint with. We discovered that blackberries make a great dye for tie-dye and we enjoyed experimenting with this too.
We also celebrated a pupil’s birthday, making a special forest school cake complete with mud, woodshaving-sprinkles and stick candles!
