Cross country excellence!

After the high drama of last week’s Seaford College U12 & U13 events which saw Windlesham House mis-announced as runners-up U13 boys category when in fact we were joint winners, it was great to get straight back into action on a stunning October afternoon for the Ardingly Team Championships.

This unusual event uniquely asks all runners to run twice over a ‘short’ course with runners either progressing to an ‘A’ final or ‘B’ final and win points for their school. With the sun shining and a temperature of 20 degrees, this was a tough ask especially for our younger athletes or those competing for the first time.

Individually Olivia and Harrison in Year 8 and Cooper in Year 4 collected silver medals, while Taylor made it two golds in two weeks. In the team competitions, our U9 girls came third, U9 boys second and the U13 boys first, finishing as champions by a mere two points, proving that every place, every stride and indeed every ounce of effort really matters.
